Follow the Signs . . .

Why is it that people who call themselves Christians are following signs and wonders? The Word of God clearly warns the churches: “do not be deceived” by the false, destructive teachings of liars who come in the name of Jesus performing signs and wonders. Time and time again, the Lord commands us to test the spirits of people and see if they line up to God's Word. see Matthew 2:16; Matthew 24:5; Matthew 24:11; Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:6; Mark 13:22; Luke 21:8; Romans 16:18; 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Corinthians 11:3; Ephesians 5:6; Galatians 6:7; Colossians 2:4; 2 Thessalonians 2:3; 2 Timothy 3:13; James 1:16; 1 John 2:26; 1 John 3:7; 1 John 4:1
Why then, are so many people chasing after the deception of signs and wonders as if their very salvation depended such? The answer is simple: The false prophets performing signs and wonders are preaching that signs and wonders are the evidence of salvation. They are preaching that if you can't produce a healing, or a prophetic word, or a sign, or a wonder, you are not saved. So they say that you better “Follow the signs, until the signs follow you.”
Does God Dream?

Well, it appears there is another “new thing” going on in Redding, California. Evidently it is even slithering its way into some main line church denominations. It is influencing people who we wouldn't normally expect to embrace such a thing. People say it is dreaming with God and it fits right in with the Bible's prophecies of deception in these last days we live in.
Does God dream? Has God ever dreamed? Does the Bible say anywhere that God dreams or ever has? What does the Bible say about our dreams? What does the Bible say about dreamers? Why is all this important?
Which Gospel

The Apostle Paul explains to the unsaved King Agrippa what he, Paul, did in the power of the Holy Spirit, following Jesus and preaching the Gospel. The Apostle Paul, by this same explanation, speaks to us today. He tells us what we must be doing if we are to be considered by God, disciples of Jesus, fit for the Kingdom of God, walking in our salvation.
Oh no, we are not saved by works. We are saved to works. Those who are saved are commanded to do works appropriate for repentance. That's the Gospel!
The Time Is Come

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: And if it first begin at us, what will the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? – 1 Peter 4:17 (KJV)
The time is come. Judgment is begun in the house of God . . . well, in the true house of the true God. There are many houses that proclaim to be the house of God, but no judgment appears there, only a false humanistic version of God's love and grace. What will be the end of them that obey not the Gospel of God?
Nation will rise against nation. We've had 2 world wars and many others around the world; more in the last 100 years than ever before. Check. (See Matthew 24:7, Mark 13:8, Luke 21:10)
Many false prophets will go forth in Jesus' name. Let's see, Mormons call themselves Christians, though they are not. Jehovah's Witnesses say they are Christians, though they are not. Catholics call themselves Christians, though most are not. Now, more and more as the wicked increase, there are even many mainline Community churches that call themselves Christian, though many are not. Check. (See Matthew 24:5, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8)
Christian Businesses

What makes a business truly, “Christian”?
You see a lot of businesses in Redding with a storefront sign that says “Christian” this or that. You see little fish symbols here and there. You hear certain people say, “Oh, I believe in God.”
But is that what makes a business truly Christian? Is a business truly Christian that sells items the Lord Jesus does not approve of? Is a business truly Christian whose owners practice lies and deception? Just because a business is involved in the community, does good things, and practices unity with other store owners, does this make it a Christian business?
There are no Christian businesses. There are people who are Christian. There are people who claim to be Christian and are not. And there are people who are not Christian.
